Oak View Elementary’s School Counseling

At Oak View, we are proud to have a strong school counseling program! We serve students in kindergarten through fifth grade in a variety of ways and want to ensure that all students have a strong foundation socially and emotionally. By providing students with these important skills, we are also helping to prevent any barriers to their academic success. Below, you can find out more information about how we see students and the content that we cover over the course of the school year.

Our school counselor provides for our Oak View community in these ways:

  • Responsive services-personal and crisis counseling, small groups, lunch bunch, mentoring, 504 and support services
  • Classroom curriculum- classroom lessons, character education, group activities, newsletters, and book study
  • System support-staff and community relations
  • Test planning and interpretation

Helping Oak View Students to Build Character

Oak View Elementary has three school-wide expectations:

  • Be Respectful.
  • Be Responsible.
  • Be Safe.

These expectations are repeated and supported throughout our school.  We are committed to help our students grow up to be good citizens of our community and our country.

Throughout the school year, Oak View staff work hard to build and support good character in our students.

Stop and Think

A Fairview Elementary school counselor is encouraging her students to stop and think, and the district is encouraging others to embrace the concept as well.
